W3TC on Shared hosting?
I've read from some people (like yoast) that W3TC is best when you can use APC or memcache. But not as good if you are on shared and call only use "basic" disk cache?
I use to be able to use the "enhanced" disk cache but with the latest update all i can use is the "basic" setting. http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugi...n-disabled Would i be better off using super cache? |

RE: W3TC on Shared hosting?
Not sure, why don't you try it out. W3TC offers a lot of other features (particularly the combining of css/js) that you'll probably want to keep anyway.

RE: W3TC on Shared hosting?
I read that APC will be built into the next PHP update, so hopefully at this point even shared servers - many of which don't currently use APC, will then allow it?
I'll wait until the next W3TC update, before looking to another plugin like super cache. |
